R-Composit™

  • R-COMPOSIT™ is a polymer hydro insulation material 1-component, ready to use on latex acrylic base modified by marble.

R-COMPOSIT™ is a unique liquid polymer hydro insulation compositionin the water-based suspension form.

    PROPERTIES AND FEATURES OF R-COMPOSIT™

    • R-COMPOSIT™ is applied for hydro insulation of roofs under operation, open balconies and terraces, and wherever it is recommended to use bitumenand other similar materials.
    • After drying, R-COMPOSIT™ forms a white (or tinted) seamless glossy coating, which is waterproof and resistant to any weather conditions.
    • Application of R-COMPOSIT™ for repairing of roofs enables not to dismantle the old roll material, but only to remove visible defects (for example, bubbles or loose parts of the old coating).
    • R-COMPOSIT™ is particularly suitable for hydro insulation of roofs with a complex geometrical shape and / or loaded with many engineering structures (for example, ducts, antennas, air conditioning, etc.).
    • Application of R-COMPOSIT™ is especially important for buildings, subject to bending due to ground shifts or shrinkage. If the roof is made of metal, the use of bitumen roll materials leads to cracks on the cover, and not just at the seams. This is due to the fact that thermal expansion / contraction of the metal and bitumen carpet are very different.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ has unique flexibility and strength (tensile of finished R-COMPOSIT™ coating before break is 500%. This means that the coating will stretch to 5 (!) times before it breaks or tears).
    • R-COMPOSIT™ is characterized by excellent adhesion (the basis for the application can be slate, ceramic tile, metal, corrugated sheet, shingles, concrete screed, plaster, brick, other kinds of roofing, etc.).
    • Unlike the majority of hydro insulation coatings, R-COMPOSIT™ has excellent water vapor permeability and evaporation passes freely. Thus the basis under R-COMPOSIT™ coating is always dry, which extends the life of the basis.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ has low thermal conductivity and high ability to reflect sunlight (the color of coating reduces solar radiation, thus significantly reducing the cost of air conditioning of buildings in summer and extends the life of the roof itself.)
    • Heating of the R-COMPOSIT™ cover from the sunlight is 1.5-2 times lower compared to roll materials, so R-COMPOSIT™ reduces heating of the roof from the sun and reduces power consumption of air conditioning of the building at 40% or more. This is especially important for residents of the upper floors in the summer months, as well as in commercial, retail and entertainment centers and other buildings having significant area of the roof.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ is highly resistant to many chemical and biochemical environments, it can perfectly withstand icing, it does not change its properties at ambient temperatures below -30C, and does not break down at high temperatures (up to +100C).
    • R-COMPOSIT™ is a non-combustible material and is applied without using open flame or organic solvents, and therefore can be used in fire hazardous facilities.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ can be applied by a brush, roller or trowel. Even a layman can carry out works on application of this material, after reading the simple instruction for use. When working on large areas, airless spray gun of high pressure can be used. In this case, productivity of work increases tenfold.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ requires no apitional coating and can be used as a decoration material in finishing of the roof.
    • R-COMPOSIT™ provides high resistance to atmospheric influences (water resistance, UV-radiation, temperature and humidity drops, etc.), guaranteed reliability, high endurance and durability (life on roofs is more than 15 years).
    • R-COMPOSIT™ does not contain toxic components and has the State Hygienic Certificate in the territories of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

    1. GENERAL CONDITIONS

1.1. This technological instruction describes a process of applying R-COMPOSIT™ on surfaces like slate, ceramic tile, metal, corrugated sheet, shinglas, concrete screed, plaster, brick and other kinds of roofing.

1.2. The materials used for protection must meet the requirements of the technical documentation. R-COMPOSIT™ material must comply with specifications TU 5775-001-89189728-2011.

1.3. Each batch of material must be accompanied by a passport certifying
the quality of products, and each tare unit should carry a label of the manufacturing company.

    2. TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

    2.1. Set of spatulas.

2.2. Hair brushes with long soft bristles.

2.3. Electromechanical tools for cleaning the surface.

2.4. Wire brushes and abrasive tools.

    2.4. Airless spray painter («Graco», «Wagner», etc.).

    3. REQUIREMENTS TO SURFACES

3.1. Before applying R-COMPOSIT™, the surface must be cleaned of debris, dirt, oil stains and loose rust, and if necessary, washed and dried. Before applying the material on concrete surfaces, you must remove roughness, for example rolls and particles of concrete aggregate, and wash fragile coating of laitance.

3.2. It is necessary to pay special attention to the careful processing of recesses, corners and joints. They should be sealed with cement mortar (M 200) or plaster filler.

3.3. After cleaning, and before applying R-COMPOSIT™, the surface must be dedusted. You can use compressed air or wet cleaning followed by drying.

3.4. New concrete surfaces must get 100% of the planned strength.

3.5. Surfaces must be dry (concrete surfaces must be dry for at least 48 hours before applying R-COMPOSIT™ material, weight concrete humidity should be no more than 8%).

3.6. The temperature of the insulating surface during R-COMPOSIT™ application should be between +5C to +40C.

    4. PRIMING OF THE SURFACE

4.1. Before starting work, R-COMPOSIT™ should be thoroughly mixed.

4.2. R-COMPOSIT™ material should be used as a primer, diluted with water at a ratio of 1 part of R-COMPOSIT™ to 5 parts of water. Clean fresh water or distilled water should be used for dilution. Consumption of the primer material depends on the state of the current surface (i.e. its hydrophilic properties and level of deterioration) and constitutes about 200 - 250 g/m ².

4.3. Primer is applied by a brush or roller in 1 - 2 layers. Joints and cracks should be processed especially carefully.

4.4. The drying time of one primer layer at ambient temperature of +20°C and relative humidity of 70 ± 5% is less than two hours. Drying time increases in case of failure to comply with the conditions of drying. The second primer is applied after drying of the first layer to the state of "tack free."

    5. APPLICATION OF R-COMPOSIT™

5.1. Before starting work, R-COMPOSIT™ must be thoroughly mixed. If necessary, R-COMPOSIT™ can be diluted with water, but not more than 5% by weight of the composition. For dilution use distilled or clean fresh water.

5.2. It is not allowed to apply the materials on wet or icy surfaces. Surface temperature must not be below +5C. It is not recommended to work in rainy or humid weather (over 75% of humidity), as R-COMPOSIT™ is diluted with water, so it will increase the drying time.

5.3. Surfaces must be prepared and meet the requirements of paragraph 3 and paragraph 4 of the current instruction.

5.4. R-COMPOSIT™ material is applied by a stiff brush, roller or rubber spatula (application by an airless spray gun is possible) in two (usually) or three layers.

5.5. Each next layer of R-COMPOSIT™ is applied in the direction perpendicular to the first layer, and only after the drying of the previous layer to the state of "tack free." Total thickness of the dry coating should not be less than 1 mm. Complete polymerization period of R-COMPOSIT™ coatings is 24 hours.

5.6. Consumption of R-COMPOSIT™ for dry layer of 1.0 mm thickness depends on the state of the surface (roughness, bumps, number of joints, etc.) and constitutes 1.0 - 1.2 kg/m².

5.7. Use visual quality control of the coating – the basic surface should not be seen under the layer of coating. To accurately measure the thickness of the finish coating use a thickness gauge for wet coatings.

5.8. After completion of works the instrument should be thoroughly washed with water.

    6. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

6.1 R-COMPOSIT™ has no general toxic and skin-resorptive effects. According to GOST Standard 12.1.007, R-COMPOSIT™ refers to the 4th class of danger.

6.2. When working with the product, it is recommended to wear protective goggles and an apron.
